The songs come across as meditations. Eschewing a normal rock-band drum kit as well as avoiding much conventional song structure. There is a palpable feeling of seance. The mood set conjures thoughts of the sweat lodge, datura, ill portent, black magic. Female vocals swell and ebb between warm, breathy intimacy up to empowering foreboding; quivering here, domineering there. In French no less! Add the combined effect with sitar-esque guitar tones bringing visions of some mystical haunt in North African quicksand or, at the very least, a Moroccan hash panic.
